Flights Delayed Due To Smoky Skies From Canadian Wildfires

(Washington, DC) — A heads up for anyone traveling by plane today. More flights could be delayed because of the dangerous air quality across the Northeast. All that smoke in the skies is coming from hundreds of wildfires raging in Canada. It was enough to cause a ground stop yesterday at New York’s LaGuardia Airport and delays at Dulles International and Ronald Reagan Washington National, and the same thing could happen again. DC is seeing the first Code Red air quality alert for fine particle pollution since 2011, while New York at one point Wednesday recorded the worst air quality anywhere on the planet.
