Lawsuit Filed Against Gianforte’s Pro-Housing Laws

(Helena, MT) — New housing laws passed this year by the Montana legislature are being challenged. A group called Montanans Against Irresponsible Densification filed a lawsuit Friday against four of those laws that aim to address affordable housing in the state. The suit believes the laws may be unconstitutional, and doesn’t take all sides of the zoning process into account. It went as far as to say those who would represent “quiet, graceful neighborhoods” weren’t invited to the table. The lawsuit also accused the Legislature of trying to micromanage local zoning by passing the four bills.
