Man Accused Of Intentionally Crashing Into Deer Herd Pleading Guilty

(Ely, MN) — An Ely man charged for crashing his vehicle into a deer herd on purpose is pleading guilty. The incident happened earlier this year, when Casey Meadows drove his vehicle into multiple deer, killing three of them. He was arrested and charged with three counts of using a motor vehicle to chase wild animals. Meadows was sentenced to ninety days in jail with time stayed if he pays fines and meets the conditions of his parole, which prevents him from hunting in Minnesota for a year. This case has resulted in increased penalties for people who illegally kill wild animals in a malicious way in Minnesota.
