Man Charged For Hiding Missing Teen Girl

(Forest Lake, MN) — A missing teen girl from Forest Lake has been found, and a man is facing charges for allegedly hiding her. Desiray Kappes disappeared after biking away from her home in May, but was found safe just days ago. Authorities discovered that she had been living in a tent behind a residence in Pine County, and police say Shawn Bellach helped hide her there. According to court documents, Bellach is a former live-in boyfriend of the girl’s mother. He’s been charged with one felony count of deprivation of custodial rights, and faces up to two years in prison if convicted.
