Man Sentenced For Deadly Shooting

(Cass Lake, MN) — A man has been sentenced to prison time for a deadly drive-by shooting in Cass Lake. In 2021, Diego Gasca was found fatally shot in the middle of a street, and local resident William Headbird was charged with second-degree murder in connection with the crime. Eyewitness descriptions of his vehicle and collection of DNA evidence resulted in Headbird being linked to the shooting. At a Wednesday sentencing hearing, a judge sentenced Headbird to 19-and-a-half years in prison.
