Minneapolis Updates Progress On DOJ Report On 2020 Riots, Police Response

(Minneapolis, MN) — The City of Minneapolis is reviewing its progress on a Justice Department report on the riots of 2020 when George Floyd was killed by a police officer during an arrest. The report recommends over two dozen points to be addressed, including restructuring how police handle major incidents, large crowds, and police use of force. Mayor Jacob Frey said in a press conference Tuesday that the city is not hiding from its past mistakes and is working on improvements.
