Minnesota Senator Tina Smith Calls On Postmaster General To Repair USPS Mismanagement

(Washington, D.C.) — Minnesota U.S. Senator Tina Smith is demanding that the US Postal Service steps up to the plate. She sent a letter to the Postmaster General Louis Dejoy yesterday calling on him to address issues of mismanagement, mainly at the Bemidji Post Office. Smith said during the busy winter holiday season carriers were working 12 hours a day. She also mentioned that a recent audit by the Office of Inspector General showed that close to 80 thousand pieces of mail were delayed. The report also showed that the Bemidji Post Office was understaffed by 15 carriers.
