Minnesota Supreme Court Blocks Bid To Remove Trump From Ballot

(Saint Paul, MN) — The Minnesota Supreme Court is blocking a bid to remove former President Trump from the state’s GOP primary ballot based on the 14th Amendment’s “insurrection clause.” The clause says that U.S. officials who take an oath to uphold the constitution are banned from future office if they “engaged in insurrection,” but does not say how to be enforced. In its ruling, the court said the challengers, a bipartisan group of Minnesota voters, can try again if Trump were to win the GOP nomination.
