Minnesota’s Democratic Governor To Sign Marijuana Bill Into Law

(St. Paul, MN) — Minnesota Governor Tim Walz will sign a recreational marijuana bill into law today. The proposal lets those 21 and older have up to two pounds of marijuana at home and two ounces elsewhere. The bill does not legalize public consumption of marijuana. The proposal also expunges the sentences of residents convicted of marijuana crimes. Once signed into law, it will take effect on August 1st. Lawmakers say it will take more than a year for the state to issue licenses for selling the drug.
