Mitchell Denies Burglary Accusation In Social Media Post

(Detroit Lakes, MN) — State Senator Nicole Mitchell is making her first comments after being charged with first-degree burglary in Becker County. The DFL senator from Woodbury was arrested on Monday morning after police reportedly found her in the basement of her stepmother’s home. Mitchell appeared in court yesterday and was granted release from jail on the condition that she have no contact with her stepmother. A restraining order was also reportedly issued against Mitchell. The senator made a Facebook post yesterday denying the burglary accusation. She said she had gone to the home to check on a family member who called the police after Mitchell startled her.
