(Pierz, MN) — The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is releasing more details about how a suspect was injured last week in Morrison County. Investigators say Deputy Axel Lange pulled over the suspect on Friday night in Pierz Township for speeding and suspicion of impaired driving. The suspect reportedly struggled with the deputy during his arrest and tried to reach for Lange’s gun during a five-minute scuffle. The BCA says Lange used his knife to injure and subdue the suspect because he couldn’t reach his gun. The suspect is still in the hospital in stable condition, while Lange has been placed on leave during the ongoing investigation.
