(Bonner, MT) — Montana is getting federal funding for wildfire management. The U.S. Department of the Interior was in Montana yesterday to show off eight-point-four-million dollars for the Treasure State. The department’s deputy secretary made the announcement in the Blackfoot-Clark Fork Restoration Landscape area. The money is part of an effort by the Biden administration to support and plan wildland fire management across the country. The deputy secretary says agencies need to “remain steadfast” to wildfire response and preparedness, especially with longer fire seasons and extreme fire behavior in Montana.
