(Helena, MT) — Trial will begin Monday for a climate change lawsuit against the state of Montana. This after the Montana Supreme Court denied a request by the state attorney general this week to throw out the trial date. All but one justice voted to dismiss the motion. The lawsuit was originally filed three years ago on behalf of 16 youth plaintiffs claiming the Treasure State has failed to provide their constitutional right to a “clean and healthful” environment. The case will be heard in Lewis and Clark District Court.
