More Cars Removed From Yellowstone River

(Reed Point, MT) — More progress is being made to clean up the Yellowstone River following last weekend’s bridge collapse and train derailment. Unified Command said yesterday crews were able to get three additional cars out of the water, bringing the total to five. Those cars were carrying asphalt, sulfur, or scrap metal. Despite some release into the water, the Environmental Protection Agency said there’s no risk to drinking water at the moment. Officials are doing tests on the water and air quality every day at several locations downstream from the derailment site.
