(Princeton, MN) — The state Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is releasing more details about a shooting that wounded five law enforcement officers in Benton County last week. The B-C-A says a confidential informant alerted the Sherburne County Drug Task Force that a couple was selling meth out of a home near Princeton. Officers from the task force and the Benton County Sheriff’s Office were serving a narcotics search warrant at the home on October 12th when someone inside opened fire. Two officers returned fire, including an undercover Sherburne County deputy. Karl Holmberg is facing multiple charges of attempted murder and first-degree assault in connection with the shooting.
