(Bozeman, MT) — Montana State University has set a new all-time high for research expenditures. This is the fifth straight year MSU has broken its own record. The university spent 230-million-dollars on research during the previous fiscal year. It marks the first time a Montana college’s research expenditures have ever been higher than 200-million-dollars. About 90-percent of the funding was through federal grants. The rest of the money came from private foundations, donors and the state of Montana.
