(Minneapolis, MN) — The NAACP is suing the Minneapolis Police Department for allegedly using fake social media accounts to spy on its members for no reason. The lawsuit claims MPD officers posed as Black users to harass the organization and “push racist stereotypes.” It was filed in federal court today by the University of Minnesota’s Racial Justice Law Clinic. This comes after the state’s Department of Human Rights released an investigative report on misconduct within the department.
