(St. Paul, MN) — The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources is implementing new burn restrictions in more than three-dozen counties statewide. The agency announced Friday that it will not issue permits for open burning in those counties because of the current threat of wildfires. The new restrictions go into effect today and will be lifted or adjusted as conditions change. That could happen later this week, as the National Weather Service says there is a possibility of snow from a storm system expected to enter the state on Thursday.
