(St. Peter, MN) — Investigators are looking into the death of a patient at a Minnesota mental health facility. The Minnesota Department of Human Services says a patient at the north campus of the Forensic Mental Health Program in St. Peter was attacked by another patient early Monday morning. The facility treats patients who have been declared dangerous and were committed through a civil rather than a criminal process. A staff member was also injured in the attack. DHS officials say they are cooperating with law enforcement and have begun an internal review.
