(Des Moines, IA) — There’s reaction from both sides of the debate following the vote on Iowa’s new abortion rules. Protestors both for and against the new abortion bill packed the statehouse Tuesday as lawmakers debated the bill. Some said Iowa lawmakers were overstepping with the legislation, saying decisions about abortion should be between a patient and their doctor. Others said they were glad Iowa was taking the steps to limit abortions. Lawmakers late Tuesday approved the new bill which bans nearly all abortions after six weeks of pregnancy. Governor Reynolds says she’ll sign the bill into law Friday.
