Public Charter School Lawsuit Dismissed

(Helena, MT) — A lawsuit against public charter schools in Montana is being tossed. The two sides in the case had a motion approved last week noting the Office of Public Instruction’s process for opening the schools fell in line with a judge’s order. While the lawsuit has been dismissed, an injunction will remain in place until it is ended by a judge or the state legislature clarifies the process during session. So far, 15 of the 18 charter schools have opened as of Monday and are enrolling students for the upcoming school year. OPI is working with one other school to get the correct information submitted.
