Retired General Says Be Careful Of “Miscalculations” In Middle East

(Lake Elmo, MN) — A retired Army four-star general says all sides, including the U.S., need to be careful to avoid “miscalculations” in the Middle East. Speaking on CBS’ Face the Nation, the former commander of the U.S. Central Command Joseph Votel said any miscalculation could lead to an escalation of conflict in the region. Votel also addressed video of an Israeli government minister providing West Bank citizens with assault rifles, calling it a “tinderbox.” He said having people who are both scared and armed increases the chances of “something going wrong.”
