Reynolds To Sign Abortion Bill Into Law

(Iowa City, IA) — Iowa’s new abortion ban is set to become law later today. Governor Reynolds has said she plans to sign the bill into law today, despite new legal challenges against the ban. The bill passed earlier this week after a marathon legislative session basically bans all abortions after six weeks of pregnancy. Abortion providers and the ACLU of Iowa have filed a lawsuit to stop the legislation. A judge will hear arguments on the matter later today.
