(Washington, DC) — Republican Congressman Matt Rosendale is entering Montana’s Senate race. The conservative lawmaker announced he’s jumping in the race to unseat Democratic incumbent Jon Tester. The move kicks off a potentially divisive primary race in the Treasure State as Republican leadership has thrown its support behind candidate and former Navy Seal Tim Sheehy, who they believe is best equipped to oust Tester. Rosendale has been serving as the representative for Montana’s 2nd Congressional District but the seat will now be open come November.
