Several Races Without Democratic Candidates In Montana

(Helena, MT) — Several races in Montana are not going to feature candidates from both parties this November. After the filing deadline passed on Monday, the numbers show more than a dozen state legislative seats will not have any Democratic challengers. That includes four Senate seats and 14 House seats, as well as one of the spots on the Public Service Commission. One Montana Democratic official told NBC Montana, many of the seats are in heavily Republican supported areas and would be difficult to win. Republicans currently have big majorities in both houses of the State Legislature.
