(Mankato, MN) — Southern Minnesotans only have a few more days until they will be required to use ten digits when they make phone calls. Consolidated Communications says all customers in the 507 area code must begin dialing all ten digits on July 30th. Calls using only seven digits will not be connected as of that date. The change is necessary because numbers using the 924 area code will be assigned in that area beginning August 30th.
