(Chandler, MN) — A southwest Minnesota company will pay the federal government a hefty fine for violating child labor laws. The U.S. Department of Labor says the Monogram Meat Snacks facility in Chandler hired at least 11 teenagers and let some of them operate hazardous machinery. In addition to 140-thousand dollars in civil penalties, the company is being barred from shipping any of its snack products. The Department of Labor did not say how long the shipping penalty would be in effect.
