Three Men Dead After Motorcycle Pileup in Western Iowa

(Council Bluffs, IA) — Three are dead and three are injured after a crash involving several motorcycles in western Iowa Sunday. The Iowa State Patrol says it happened around 4:20 p.m. along Highway 127 near Loess Hills Trail in Harrison County. One of the motorcycles failed to negotiate a curve, causing a chain reaction crash with at least two others. Both ground and air rescue units from surrounding communities responded to the crash. The dead are identified as 73-year-old Ronald Meeker, of Woodbine, Iowa, and 53-year-olds Steven Starkey and Julie Starkey, both from Council Bluffs.
