(Greenfield, IA) — Multiple deaths are being reported in Iowa after a tornado ripped through the town of Greenfield. The Iowa State Patrol says numerous fatalities have been confirmed in the town southwest of Des Moines, but that the exact number isn’t expected to be released until later today. Sergeant Alex Dinkla said about a dozen other people were injured and that search efforts are ongoing. Much of the town of around two-thousand people was devastated by Tuesday’s twister that leveled homes and scattered cars and trees. Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds has issued a disaster proclamation for 15 counties impacted by the severe weather.
