Two Dead, Three Injured Following Midday Thursday Collision Near Lincoln

(Lincoln, NE) — A motorist is facing a homicide charge after two people were killed and three others critically injured following yesterday’s vehicle collision in southwest Nebraska. Troopers say it happened around 12:15 p.m. when a pickup hauling an empty trailer blew through a stop sign at the intersection of Highway 89 and Nebraska Highway 18, about 12 miles south of Arapahoe and collided with an SUV. A woman in the SUV reportedly was declared dead at the scene. A girl, who was also traveling in the SUV reportedly was airlifted to a nearby hospital in Kearney, where she dead sometime later around 12:15 p.m. Meanwhile, the SUV’s driver and two children in the vehicle were hospitalized with critical injuries. The driver of the pickup — 28-year-old Kyiaz Ulanov — and his passenger were slightly injured in the crash.
