Virnig Wins Special Election For Minnesota House Seat

(Dakota County, MN) — Democrats will maintain a six-vote majority in the Minnesota House after Bianca Virnig’s win in a special election yesterday. Virnig won about 58-percent of the vote in the election to replace former Representative Ruth Richardson, who resigned in September. Republicans had hoped low turnout for the special election would help them take the seat. The district includes parts of Dakota County, including Eagan, Mendota and Mendota Heights.
