Western Minnesota Railroads Getting $2.6M For Improvements

(Undated) — Two regional railroads in western Minnesota are splitting more than two-million dollars from the federal government to make safety improvements and other upgrades. Twin Cities and Western Railroad in Glencoe will get most of the money allotted by the Federal Railroad Administration to improve safety by eliminating jointed rails on its tracks. The Minnesota Valley Regional Rail Authority will get just over half-a-million dollars to assess crossing safety on 40 miles of track between Norwood Young America and Hanely Falls. The money was provided through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.
