(Wilber, NE) — The operator of a wind turbine farm in Saline County is seeking injunctions against the Saline County Board of Adjustments. The request for temporary and permanent injunctions comes after the Board of Adjustments created a sound limit on Milligan One’s 99 wind turbine farm. There was no wind turbine noise limit that applied to utility grade projects in Saline County when the Milligan One project was approved in October 2016. The sound regulations were approved in July 2021, and attorneys for the wind farm argue that the Board of Adjustments used a “meritless citizen complaint” to create the sound limit that was not a part of the original conditional use permit for the project.
