(Minneapolis, MN) — Today a Minneapolis City Council committee will consider paying a witness to the George Floyd murder 30-thousand dollars in a settlement. Charles McMillan filed a legal claim against the city for emotional distress. He also testified during former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin’s 2021 murder trial. Earlier this year, the City Council approved a 150-thousand dollar settlement with another eyewitness who claims he was assaulted by police while trying to interrupt Floyd’s arrest.
