273 Removed From State Voter Roll

(Pierre, SD) — State officials say nearly 300 “non-citizens” have been removed from the voter roll. The South Dakota Department of Public Safety and the Secretary of State’s office announced the removal of 273 names in a news release on Monday. The news release said the two offices worked with the South Dakota Bureau of Information and Telecommunications “to implement a fix.” The release did not go into detail why the names were removed. According to data from the Secretary of State’s office, there are just over 682-thousand registered voters in South Dakota.
