(Lake Poinsett, SD) — It’s almost time for the 2nd annual Summer Classic at Lake Poinsett. The two-day tournament is taking place this weekend. Golfers and anglers will compete to help raise money for charity. The funds are going to go to young cancer survivors in South Dakota, Make A Wish South Dakota and Montana, and also missionary work globally. There are 36 golf teams prepared for Friday and over 60 fishing teams ready for Saturday. Ty Eschembaum, who was a Make A Wish Kid after surviving cancer early in his life, started the Summer Classic to honor his late girlfriend who passed away in 2019.
