$3.5M Grant Works To Close Housing Gap For Felons

(Sioux Falls, SD) — A three-and-half million dollar grant will help those leaving prison receive housing. The MacArthur Foundation is partnering up with multiple organizations which include, USD Center for Family Medicine, South Dakota Urban Indian health, Minnehaha County Human Services and Augustana research. Helpline Center Program Director Shauna Batcheller says the national grant, Project Just Home, would increase the access to housing or rental units throughout the city. The grant will be distributed to Minnehaha County, South Carolina, California and Oklahoma.
