(Beresford, SD) — A 66-year-old motorcyclist who wasn’t wearing a helmet is dead following a crash on Interstate-29 in Union County. South Dakota Highway Patrol says it happened Saturday afternoon while the man was traveling southbound on a 2004 Kawasaki. Investigators say he appeared to veer off the left side of the interstate into the median and was thrown off the motorcycle. He died after he was taken by ambulance to an area hospital. No other vehicles were involved and Highway Patrol doesn’t believe alcohol played a role in the crash. The victim’s identity has not been publicly released.
