(Sioux Falls, SD) — Minnehaha County officials are revealing absentee voting numbers are lower than expected. This comes ahead of South Dakota’s primary election on Tuesday. As of yesterday, Minnehaha County has only received two-thousand absentee ballots out of 140-thousand registered voters since absentee voting started a little over a month ago. Minnehaha County Auditor Leah Anderson says that’s a little low compared to 2022, but she hopes to see better numbers on election day. Officials are predicting a 30 to 40-percent turnout.
