ACLU At Odds With A.G. On Abortion Ruling Letter

(Sioux Falls, SD) — The ACLU of South Dakota is calling out South Dakota Attorney General Marty Jackley. AG Jackley showed support for a letter along with 18 other attorneys generals urging the Biden administration to withdraw a proposed rule allowing people to seek abortions or gender-affirming care across state lines. Jackley contends limiting the states’ abilities to obtain medical records for the use of investigations. Janna Farley with the ACLU of South Dakota is concerned about how the letter could be applied, saying there “seems to be some chilling motivation behind this letter, you know, keeping the door open for criminalizing people who are seeking abortions or gender-related care beyond the state lines.”
