Arsonist Sentenced 35 Years In Prison For Fire Deaths

(Sioux Falls, SD) — A woman is going to serve up to 35 years for an arson fire in Sioux Falls that killed someone. Thirty-five-year-old Gerri Jensen pleaded guilty to starting the fire in July of 2022 and was sentenced Tuesday. Fifty-three-year-old Charice Admire died in the blaze. The court suspended 15 years of Jensen’s sentence that was originally 50 years charges of first-degree manslaughter and first degree arson. Police determined in May this year that she started the apartment fire because of a disagreement with another person, and Admire had nothing to do with it.
