BBB Reports Online Classic Vehicle Scam

(Sioux Falls, SD) — The Better Business Bureau is investigating a scam involving a classic car dealership that claimed to operate out of South Dakota. A customer was scammed out of over 40-thousand dollars after they thought they were purchasing a 1966 Chevy Nova SS. The dealership is listed online as “Collector’s Car,” and it was linked to a reputable dealership in Webster with a different name. According to the BBB Scam Tracker, a customer saw the classic car advertised on Facebook, sent the payment via a wire transfer, and then was blocked by the person who posted the ad.
