(De Smet, SD) — Beef Bucks has announced the passing of industry leader and founding board member of the organization, Bob Montross. Montross died at his home in De Smet this past Friday. He was 76. Since 1997, Montross, his wife and the nonprofit’s board of directors promoted the beef industry through millions of dollars and thousands of pounds of beef purchases. His advocacy of the beef industry landed him an appearance on the TV game show — Wheel of Fortune — in 2012. Beef Bucks has also supported scholarships for South Dakota students pursuing a career in agriculture and provided funding for the South Dakota Highway Patrol.
