(Pierre, SD) — South Dakota homeowner associations can no longer ban guns and ammo. It’s because of a bill passed by the Senate Commerce and Energy Committee on Tuesday. Republican Senator Michael Rohl from Aberdeen sponsors the bill and says the penalties in an HOA for gun ownership can be severe. Democratic Senate Minority Leader Reynold Nesiba from Sioux Falls was the only “no” vote Tuesday. This measure will now move to the full Senate for further approval.
