Black Hills Tourism Spots Prepare For Another Busy Summer

(Custer, SD) — Tourism spots in Black Hills are preparing for another busy summer. Crazy Horse has been buzzing already after it’s 75th anniversary celebration this year. Mount Rushmore National Park is averaging over two-and-a-half million visitors a year. Officials say their numbers are already up two-and-a-half percent this year. Further north, organizers are gearing up for the next Sturgis Motorcycle Rally that runs August 4th through the 13th. More than 500-thousand people attended last year’s rally, which generated nearly 800-million-dollars for the South Dakota economy, according to a study from Texas A&M. Two new casinos — the Rocksino by Hard Rock and Landmark Casino — are also opening in historic Deadwood.
