Brookings Man Guilty Of Voter Fraud

(Brookings, SD) — A Brookings man has been found guilty of voter fraud. Court records show 57-year-old Daniel Schoonhoven attempted to vote more than once between September and November 2022. Records show he voted absentee, then tried to vote in-person. He pled guilty and claims he forgot that he had already voted. Schoonhoven is set to be sentenced May 16th and faces up to two years in prison and a 54-thousand dollar fine.
