Charities Tied To SD Gifted $5M

(Sioux Falls, SD) — A few charities benefiting South Dakotans are getting their own help with a gift of five-million-dollars. Those donations come from the Yield Giving Foundation, run by Amazon co-founder and ex-wife of Jeff Bezos, MacKenzie Scott. The National Indian Youth Leadership Project, which has a branch on the Pine Ridge reservation, received two-million dollars to support indigenous youth. Gender Justice, a legal advocacy organization that works to provide gender equity legal advice in Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota, was also gifted two-million. The third organization SAGE Development Authority, ensuring energy independence for the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe in North and South Dakota, received a million dollars.
