Colorado Cold Case Victim Possibly From SD

(Undated) — A victim in a Colorado cold case could have ties to South Dakota. The unidentified woman was found dead in southern Colorado in 1999 near the town of Walsenburg. Law enforcement officials have now released digital reconstruction images of the woman believed to be from South Dakota in an effort to get any answers from the general public. Investigators are looking for any connections in the state that could identify her, reporting she is indigenous and anybody that knew her would remember her from her teeth. They added it appears she had been pregnant and also had suffered a fractured rib at some point in her life. The woman was wearing a unique pair of leather sandals made in Italy at the time of her death. Part of her remains were found in an old refrigerator, however, the circumstances around her death are unclear. Anyone who may have any information is asked to call the Colorado Bureau of Investigation.
