(Pierre, SD) — Concerns continue about newly adopted social studies standards. The disputed standards were adopted Monday despite widespread opposition by teachers, parents, and education officials. School districts must now adopt 113 new standards, on top of those already being taught. Only 100 of the 12-hundred public comments made to the standards board were in support of the new standards.
