(Sioux Falls, SD) — The state and Sioux Falls School District’s graduation rates for special education students are not meeting preset targets. Data released by the South Dakota Department of Education from the 2022-23 school year shows the state’s graduation rate was about three-and-three-quarters-percent lower than the goal of 68-point-45 percent. The Sioux Falls School District’s graduation rate was much lower at 56-point-14 percent. DOE spokeswoman Linda Turner told the Argus Leader that graduation and dropout rates were significantly impacted by the pandemic.
